Mense tertio egressionis Israel de terra Aegypti, in die hac venerunt in solitudinem Sinai:
In the third month of the departure of Israel out of the land of Egypt, on this day they came into the wilderness of Sinai:

Granum frumenti – si mortuum fuerit, multum fructum affert.

The sower went out to sow his seed. And as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and it was trodden down, and the fowls of the air devoured it
