– Morgan-Mâcon Golden Legend, Morgan Library MS M.672-5 I, fol. 88r: Marcellus I, Pope: celebrating Mass — Marcellus I, nimbed, tonsured, wearing vestments, stands before draped altar, adorned with candles, side curtains and columns surmounted by sculptures. On altar are open, inscribed book on lectern and retable depicting Crucifixion scene with nimbed bishop, Virgin Mary, Evangelist John, and another nimbed figure. Two male figures, possibly acolytes, and another male figure, tonsured, wearing vestments, flank altar. The signature and possibly name of artist LOYSIT(?) appears on him of third figure.
